This single sliding door had a SI handle with a Hoppe locking mechanism which is not uncommon to find 2 different types of hardware matched together but in this case the door was quite old and both exact parts are now not available and the handle had totally failed and come off the door and the inner mechanism had snapped when the handle came away and to top it off it was in the locked position. First off full gain entry via de-glazing the door so there was no damage created to the frame or door itself, we then gutted the old Hoppe mech and attached it to the new style Hoppe lock mech and basically used the old lock as a dummy unit utilising the original back set and fixing holes for the handle but in the end the door was back to working order and a happy customer.
